My Professional Journey

  1. Foundation

    Engineering education and military service

I am a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and U.S. Air Force veteran. My engineering education and MBA from Webster University inform how I connect technical work with business and leadership decisions.

  2. 2014

    Founding Alpine Security

I started Alpine Security in 2014. Entrepreneurship forced me to examine the cost of trying to be the smartest person in the room, especially when it kept me from listening and learning.

  3. 2020

    Selling Alpine Security

I sold Alpine Security in 2020. The experience of building and leading that company remains part of how I think about responsibility, collaboration, and the decisions that shape a team.

  4. Today

Blue Goat Cyber, books, and conversations

I lead Blue Goat Cyber’s medical device cybersecurity work, write about technical leadership and personal growth, and host The Med Device Cyber Podcast. Speaking lets me bring the technical and human sides of that work into the same conversation.
