Podcast & Media Interview FAQs
For podcast and media guests, start with the audience, answer honestly and support your claims. These short answers cover the essentials; each links to an essay with examples and a deeper practice. They are not job-interview advice.
01 · Preparation
How do I prepare for a podcast or media interview as a guest?
Research the audience and listen to a recent episode. Confirm the topic, format and length, then choose a few messages with verified examples. Rehearse aloud without memorizing a script, and test your equipment.
Check facts and sharing boundaries before recording.
One preparation question
What should this audience understand or do differently?
02 · Under pressure
How do I answer tough interview questions without getting defensive?
Pause, clarify if needed and answer the actual question. Give the relevant evidence and name important limits. If you do not know, say what you can verify instead of guessing.
Protect confidential information and promise a follow-up only when you can deliver.
When you are unsure
Name the missing fact and what you would need to check.
03 · Earned trust
How do I build credibility as a speaker or interview guest?
Connect relevant experience to the subject, then support the specific claim. Distinguish firsthand knowledge from sources and inference. Explain clearly, keep commitments and correct mistakes.
A title or qualification is context, not proof that every answer is correct.
